Mutsu Enmei Ryu is a school of martial arts, which has been handed down since Heian period, and they fight against enemies only by their bodies and don’t use any weapons. Plot Summary:

After reports that Voltron was put into turnaround by New Regency and now backed by Relativity Media, Latino Review has learned who will direct the big screen adaptation. According to the site Max Makowski has been given gift of directing the picture.

Makowski doesn’t have many films under his belt. His previous credits include 2005’s One Last Dance.

Voltron Turnaround!

Per Variety:

Fox-based New Regency has put robot project “Voltron: Defender of the Universe” into turnaround.

Ryan Kavanaugh’s financing and production venture Relativity Media is in negotiations to back the property, though on a more moderate budget, utilizing the type of cost-effective technology employed in films including “300.”

The Mark Gordon Co. still is attached to produce “Voltron,” which is based on the popular Japanese animated TV series of the 1980s.

Last summer, New Regency picked up the rights to the property, adapted by scribe Justin Marks, who’s behind Warner Bros.’ bigscreen versions of “He-Man” and “Green Arrow.”

Marks’ take is described as a post-apocalyptic tale set in New York City and Mexico, where five survivors of an alien attack band together and end up piloting the five lion-shaped robots that combine and form the massive sword-wielding Voltron that helps battle Earth’s invaders.

A Tankful Megatron?

Chud.com is reporting that not only will Megatron return in Tranformers 2, but he will be slightly different this time around:

“OK, I don’t think there’s a soul out there who will be surprised when Megatron returns inTransformers 2*. If the current incarnation of the script follows the beats of a previous incarnation (which did not feature The Fallen), Megatron may be getting brought back by the Autobots, who need him to conquer the new menace. But I’ve learned that this time he won’t be that weird alien jet. This time he’s a tank.”

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen hits theaters next Summer.

Tyrese Talks Transformers

Dark Horizons spoke with actor Tyrese Gibson about Transformers 2.

“I like doing one-offs, but I’m more excited about franchises. We’re doing Transformers 2 right now. It’s crazier, it’s angrier, it’s bigger explosions, more robots.”

“Angrier” is certainly an intriguing way to describe the big budget sequel. We asked Gibson to expand on that: “The conflict between the robots and the humans [is more angry],” Gibson adds. “The stakes have been brought up to a whole nother level. The conflicts between the humans and the Decepticons and then the conflict between the Autobots and the Decepticons. It’s just more angry.”

“Michael Bay is just in rare form right now.”

Shai’s Injury’s Causes Filming Conflict

Variety reports that actor Shai LaBeouf’s DUI and hand injury this past weekend has indeed affected the filming of Transformers 2.

LeBeouf is recovering from hand surgery and will return to the set within a month, his publicist said.

A DreamWorks insider said there was no work stoppage on “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” — a follow-up to last year’s global box office hit — but added that rescheduling has proven to be a logistical headache. Scenes featuring co-star Josh Duhamel had to be moved to this week to work around LaBeouf’s absence. Another person familiar with the situation said, “Everyone had to adjust their schedule.”

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is expected to hit theaters June 26, 2009.

The Fallen Is Transformers 2 Villain

MTV talked to IDW Publishing, which is working on a five-part prequel miniseries to Michael Bay’sTransformers: Revenge of the Fallen titled “Transformers: Destiny” that will bridge the gap between the first and second movie. What IDW Publishing says confirms the rumor that “The Fallen” in the title is indeed the villain.

“[We're going to] explore the background of The Fallen — the main villain of the movie — as well as expand on the ‘Reign of Starscream’ story that we’re doing and tie everything in to what this next movie is going to be,” explained writer Chris Mowry, who partners on the book with artist Alex Milne. “The next movie starts out with just tons of action and there’s obviously going to be a lot of questions, so we’re hoping to answer some of those beforehand.”
